Eat Well, Do Good Month 2025. One month. One City. Thousands of meals.
From the first stir of pasta dough, to the last cocktail sipped, this year Eat Well, Do Good Month returned bigger, and more joyful than ever before!
For the whole of October, restaurants, cafés, bars and breweries across Greater Manchester came together to help us fund chef-made meals for people in need. With over 80 venues taking part and more than a dozen special events, the generosity of our city’s hospitality community shone through.
We’ll be announcing the final total raised very soon (watch this space!), but for now, here’s a look back at some of the most powerful, joyful and meaningful moments of the month.
A night to remember at Manchester Museum
On Monday 27 October, the Living Worlds gallery at Manchester Museum became the setting for a truly unique event.
A Night at the Museum, led by chef Sam Buckley (Where The Light Gets In) and the young people of the Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN), was the culmination of months of collaboration and care.
Through a series of workshops hosted by friends from across the Eat Well network - MUD at Platt Fields, Companio Bakery, Littlewoods Butchers, and Holly Pickles - young people learned new skills in cooking, growing, and making. They made pasta, pickles and bread. They shaped meals. They told stories.
And on that October evening, they served an 80-seat dinner under the whale bones—sharing what they’d created with generosity and pride.
This was more than just a beautiful event. It was an opportunity for young people—many of whom face challenging circumstances—to be seen, celebrated and connected.
And thanks to their work, we were also able to deliver 30 extra portions of food to people across Greater Manchester through our regular meal deliveries.
Dancing for a cause at Renea
On Thursday 9 October, we brought together some of Manchester’s finest DJs for a one-off night of music and community spirit at Renae.
With a line-up that included local legends Chunky, Metrodome, Veba, Helen K and StandbyWez, the bar was packed with dancing bodies and good energy from start to finish.
Local talent turned up, turned out, and turned their skills into something powerful: every single ticket funded 5 meals for someone in need and over £3,200 was raised.
It was a reminder of how joy, music and community go hand in hand.
A month of creativity and generosity
Of course, these are just a few of the many, many moments that made Eat Well, Do Good Month 2025 so special.
From Schnitzel Sundays at Track to one-off pasta workshops, limited-edition desserts and Negroni menus, a city-wide raffle, donation points, and spontaneous acts of kindness—we were once again reminded of the power of hospitality to uplift, nourish and connect.
Every pound raised helps us provide meals to:
Families in temporary accommodation
Women staying in refuges
Parents with children in hospital
Children facing food insecurity
People navigating life’s hardest moments
Just £2 covers the cost of one meal—and thanks to the generosity of Manchester’s hospitality industry, we’re delivering more of those meals every single week.
Closing out EWDG with a thank you at Lina Stores
We rounded off the month with a special thank you party at Lina Stores, who generously opened their doors to help us celebrate the incredible operators and venues who made Eat Well, Do Good Month possible.
This night was for the chefs, bartenders, front-of-house staff, bakers, brewers, organisers, and all the brilliant people behind the scenes who chose to use their craft for good. We are so grateful.
Thank you Manchester
Whether you cooked, hosted, danced, donated, booked a supper club or simply added a few quid to your bill—thank you.
You are part of a collective that believes everyone deserves to eat well. And your support is helping to turn that belief into a daily, tangible reality for people across Greater Manchester.
As soon as we have the final total raised, we’ll update this page. For now, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating a beautiful, meaningful, joyful month.
Eat Well, Do Good.
