Eat Well MCR is a Manchester-based charity working to provide nourishing, chef-made meals to people facing food insecurity. Since March 2020, we’ve delivered nearly 140,000 meals to people across Greater Manchester experiencing difficult times.

Each week, we collect chilled, ready-to-freeze meals from restaurants and chefs in our collective. We freeze and label them before delivery to ensure each person receives a variety of meals—because choice is one of the first things to go when you’re struggling.

We work closely with grassroots organisations to get these meals into the hands of those who need them most—families living in temporary accommodation, women in refuges, schools supporting vulnerable children, and more.

About the role

We’re looking for a part-time delivery driver to work with our Support Coordinator and Management Team to collect and deliver meals each week, helping us get food safely from kitchens to communities.

What you’ll do:

• Collect meals from restaurants across Greater Manchester and label them with allergen and dietary info in line with food hygiene standards

• Deliver meals to our support partners across the region, following safe handling and hygiene procedures

• Help keep our van and workspace clean and tidy, including weekly cleaning

• Support the smooth running of our kitchen, storage and packing areas

• Use your initiative to support Eat Well MCR's mission however needed

What we’re looking for:

• Aged 30+ (due to van insurance) with a clean driving licence

• Able to lift and move heavy items

• Friendly and reliable, with a ‘can-do’ attitude

• Comfortable chatting to chefs and support partners

• Good attention to detail and an interest in food and hospitality

• Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate (we can provide training if needed)

• Part-time, flexible working days to suit the needs of the collection and delivery schedule.
