Our Mission & Aims
Eat Well MCR is a hospitality collective, initially formed in response to the UK food crisis worsened by the rapid spread of Covid-19. Our purpose is to offer care and support to those who need it most in our community through the provision of nutritious and delicious food, prepared with love by chefs.
We seek to build a transferable model that works in the long term to forge links between the hospitality industry and our wider community, in order to fight food inequality; tackle food waste; and promote a fairer and more sustainable food landscape in our city, and beyond.
To provide fresh, nutritious and delicious food prepared by chefs.
To feed NHS workers and people facing food inequality in our community, during the pandemic and beyond.
Develop long term strategies to ensure we can continue to feed those in food poverty, and offer inspiration, education and access to good food for those most often denied it, well into the future.
To provide easier access to fresh ingredient, and cooking tips from chefs.
Offer those facing food inequality access to high quality, nutritious food in the short term, and help to develop cooking skills and knowledge of food in the long term.
Develop a model than can be replicated across the country, with the aim of providing networks of hospitality businesses with an achievable and affordable way to connect with and serve those in food poverty in their community.
To feed people in our community who need to be shown our care and support through food.
Offer nutritious and delicious meals, choice and convenience to busy NHS staff; homeless people; and hostel, refuge and food bank users.
To provide food that delivers more than just calories – made from the highest quality ingredients, prepared with skill and love by chefs, and intended as a delight and a treat for the person eating it.
